Conservation Tips

Water is one of our most valuable resources, and the Town of Spangle encourages residents to use it wisely. Simple steps like fixing leaks, using water-efficient appliances, and practicing smart outdoor watering can make a significant difference. Consider turning off the tap while brushing your teeth to save gallons of water each day, watering your lawn during cooler hours for shorter periods of time to reduce evaporation, and using water efficient appliances to reduce unnecessary waste. By making slight changes, we can all contribute to water conservation, ensuring a sustainable supply now and for future generations. Together, we can protect our water resources and promote a healthier environment.

Backflow Prevention

To ensure the safety of our drinking water, the Town of Spangle requires backflow prevention measures to protect against contamination. Backflow occurs when water flows in the reverse direction, potentially allowing pollutants or hazardous substances to enter the public water system. Common risks include irrigation systems, fire suppression systems, and industrial connections. Residents and businesses with potential cross-connections must install and maintain backflow prevention devices as required by local and state regulations. Yearly testing and inspections are required to help keep our water supply clean and safe.

If you are unsure whether you need a backflow prevention device now or in the future due to renovations or improvements to your home, business, or property, please review our survey form for guidance. If necessary, fill it out and send it back to us to update any new or changed information. If you still have questions after reviewing the form, feel free to contact us.

Consumer Confidence Report

The Town of Spangle is committed to providing residents with high-quality drinking water and full transparency regarding its safety. Each year, we publish a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) that details the quality of our water, including sources, any detected contaminants, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
